![]() ![]() You clearly don't understand how CPU idle/load temps work, or the differences between a 3800X or 5800X. "Get used to it?" Are you seriously kidding me? Why does the BIOS tell me that the CPU is running at a much lower temperature than CAM does? I also installed Ryzen Master just now and it tells me that it's running about two degrees cooler than CAM does, so I actually have three different temperature readings and absolutely no way to know which one is accurate (if any of them are) Should I be using something other than mainboard fan headers? Get used to the high temps, and loud fans, selecting silent on CAM won't do anything in windows since you are using motherboard fan headers, thats not how that works. And I still have no clue why it's so quiet on the BIOS screen (regardless of how long I leave it there) and then immediately loud once Windows 10 starts. This NZXT cooling system is so obnoxiously loud that if I can't make it quiet, I'm going to throw it out (if I can't return it) and get another Corsair system. You suggest that I've got "malware" on my system, but I haven't changed a thing with the the cooling system except install the CAM software. I hate to complain, but I haven't found your answer helpful. The dead CPU I replaced was a Ryzen 3800. I purchased and started playing Horizon Zero Dawn the other day and everything works perfectly, so it looks like my computer woes are over. They told me that it shouldn't make noise fluctuations like what I described and recorded the reason for the exchange being "defective pump". I was able to exchange the NZXT cooler at the retailer where I purchased it. The Corsair runs a little bit louder with the newer, hotter processor. What could be going wrong? Why is the CPU temp reported completely different in the BIOS and in CAM and why are the fans running at such a loud speed in Windows 10, even when I'm just browsing the web?Įdit: I tried swapping the NZXT cooler for a Corsair cooler. Regardless of the settings in CAM, the cooling system is running loud. Rebooting, I see that the BIOS screen still says 56. Furthermore, CAM reports that the CPU temperature is now 91. ![]() However, once Windows 10 starts, the fans immediately speed up even though the profile selected in CAM is "silent". When I turn on my PC and go into the BIOS settings, it says that the CPU temp is 56 and when I select the "silent" setting, the fans slow down so that the system is very quiet. I plugged the pump and radiator fans into the CPU_FAN and OPT_FAN headers, respectively. ![]() I put it all together and it appears to be working, but there is this particular problem. The salesman at the store suggested that being one who hates noise, I might like the NZXT Kraken 53 cooling system. When I finally checked the CPU temp reading in the BIOS, it was 113. The Corsair cooling system had failed (even tho it appeared to be working from the outside). By the time I realized what was wrong with the equipment, it was too late. I just replaced the mainboard and CPU (AMD Ryzen 7 5800X) in my desktop PC after the previous hardware overheated. ![]()
